Upper to Lower Twin Lakes Route Details

The Upper to Lower Twin Lakes route begins at the Proenneke Cabin and traverses mostly over uneven, soft terrain through tundra meadows and alpine forest. Hike on the south side of the lakes and rivers to avoid heavier brush. You'll also find better views hiking along the lake, and plenty of wildlife viewing and fishing opportunities. To access the Upper to Lower Twin Lakes Route, you will need to fly into Upper Twin Lake, and schedule pickup at Lower Twin Lake near the outlet of the Chilikadrotna River. Note: ranger stations at the Proenneke Cabin and Lower Twin Lake are staffed during the summer months.
