Hope Creek Campground Details
There is a designated primitive camping area, Hope Creek, on Upper Twin Lake, just west of the Proenneke Cabin. Once you set up camp, you'll realize why Dick Proenneke chose this part of the world to build his cabin. There aren't any fees, permits, or reservations needed to camp in the park, but you should complete a [Voluntary Backcountry Registration](Http://www.nps.gov/lacl/planyourvisit/upload/Voluntary%20Backcountry%20Registration.pdf) for informational purposes. Park rangers do not track your movement through the park, so be sure and leave a trip plan with a friend or relative as a safety precaution. Before heading out on a camping trip, be sure to review the park's rules about destroying vegetation, disposing of human waste, trash, drones, firearms, picnicking, and food storage. Camping is limited to a total of 21 days between April 15 and Sept. 30 (unless otherwise authorized) within two miles of Upper and Lower Twin Lakes; there are no camping time restrictions between Oct. 1 and April 14. The ranger station at the Proenneke Cabin is staffed during the summer months.
