Riley Creek Campground Details

The largest campground in Denali, Riley Creek is also the most "civilized," with all of the amenities (and some of the traffic noise) of the park entrance area close at hand. Riley Creek is open year-round -- the only campground in Denali that open in winter -- and has 146 sites for vehicles and tents. There is running water (though not in winter) and both flush and vault toilets. Several of the restrooms are wheelchair-accessible. RVs of up to 40 feet in length are accommodated, and while there are no water or electric hookups for RVs, there is a dump/fill station at the Riley Creek Mercantile store. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire grate; one public picnic table is set adjacent to the creek. Most sites can be [reserved in advance online](http://www.reservedenali.com/), but a few tent-only sites are held aside for walk-ins. Several sites near Riley Creek Mercantile are designated as accessible, and most sites are level, vehicle-accessible and surfaced with compact gravel. The campground amphitheater is accessible via level paths, surfaced with well-compacted gravel. There are benches in the campground amphitheater, but people with mobility or physical issues should arrive early to ensure a seat. Riley Creek Mercantile also sells a wide range of camping supplies, including firewood. If you're worried about bears, this may be your best bet for camping: bears are rarely seen here, although sightings do occur. Moose may occasionally wander through, but you're far more likely to see squirrels. Riley Creek sites accommodate a maximum of 8 people each. Fees are as follows: * $14 for a walk-in tent * $22-28 for vehicles up to 30 feet in length * $28 for RVs up to 40 feet in length As with most Denali campgrounds, reservations can be made [online](http://www.reservedenali.com). There is a $6 booking fee per reservation. Cancellations must be made by 11 a.m. the day before your stay in order to receive a refund (cancellation fees apply).
