Horseshoe Lake Trail Details
As you might suspect from the name, this 3.2-mile trail runs from near the park entrance to Horseshoe Lake. The hike is mostly downhill on the way in after a short climb to a viewpoint with a bench before dropping steeply (grades from 5% to 20%) to loop around the lakeshore. The path returns the same way you came in. Elevation gain is a modest 250 feet, and figure on the hike taking about an hour each way. You can access the Horseshoe Lake Trail from either the Taiga Trail or the Bike Path at mile .075 of the Denali Park Road, near the Alaska Railroad tracks.
