Stott Park Bobbin Mill Details

Now run as a working museum, Stott Park Bobbin Mill was built in 1835 to make bobbins for Lancashire's spinning and weaving industries. The mill was powered first by a waterwheel fed from a mill pond, then by steam power and finally by electricity, with much of the original machinery intact. Although the mill closed in 1971, during its heyday it produced as many as 250,000 bobbins per week. Visitors can see bobbins being made on tours that run 45 minutes and begin at 30 minutes past the hour each day, starting at 10:30 a.m. There's an entry fee of £7.10 ($10.30). The mill is 1.6 miles north of Newby Bridge.
