You will likely get wet on this tough but ultimately rewarding walk along an old packhorse route into the heights of Borrowdale. Beginning at a farmyard in Seathwaite -- known as the wettest inhabited place in England -- the trail crosses Stockley Bridge before heading uphill toward Sty Head Pass. You'll meander over a footbridge at Sty Head Gill before climbing to Sty Head Tarn, a small mountain lake. Sprinkling Tarn, a popular picnic spot, is further along, and you'll enjoy nice views of the Borrowdale valley and Derwent Water before returning to your starting point via Ruddy Gill and Grains Gill, two vibrant fell streams.
