Underwater Trail Details

This is one of those times when the word "unique" actually applies: Trunk Bay's Underwater Trail is the only one of its kind anywhere. This snorkel trail is dotted with signage along a 225-yard course: each plaque is five to 15 feet underwater and describes plants, animals, and features nearby. Arrive early -- before 9:30 a.m. -- as the fish are more active in the morning than during the middle of the day. Once you've visited the trail, go back and try it again at a different time of day, because different fish are active at different times. It's not uncommon to see 30 to 50 species of fish during an outing here.
