Though two separate trails, Spray River West and East are oftentimes hiked together to make a longer day of it out on the trails. The relatively easy trails follow rolling terrain along either side of the Spray River; walk around The Fairmont Banff Springs to join the two trails for the longer hike. The Spray River East trailhead at Golf Course Road to Spray River Bridge is 5.6 kilometers one way (3.5 miles), and the Spray River West Trailhead to the Spray River Bridge is 5.7 kilometers one way (3.5 miles).
