Crowfoot Glacier Details
Thirty-two kilometers (20 miles) northwest of Lake Louise is Crowfoot Glacier, which sits on the northeastern side of Crowfoot Mountain, on the south end of Bow Lake, east of the Continental Divide. In the early 1900s, the glacier had three "toes," resembling the foot of a crow, thus its name. In the 1930s, however, the lower "toe" broke away and since melted away. The best viewing point of Crowfoot Glacier is from Bow Lake.
