Activities

Children can participate in ranger-led programs, family-oriented tours, and the park's Junior Ranger Program. Many commercial tours and charter vessels can gear trips to the interests of families and children, including sharing local knowledge of plants, animals, and park history. Ranger-led programs can also be a great option for families, and are run from the Visitor Center from May to September; check the weekly schedule for details. The Junior Ranger Program at Glacier Bay National Park offers kids a chance to learn about the park and the local environment. You'll find park rangers and exhibits on the second floor of the Glacier Bay Lodge; on cruise and tour boats, children can meet the ranger on board and help teach other passengers about the local ecology. Cruise ships also have a Junior Ranger Program, so stop by the children's center on your cruise for information.
