Boston Store Visitor Center Details
The Boston Store Visitor's Center is open daily, year round and is dedicated to telling the story of canal-boat building, which was once a major industry in the Cuyahoga Valley. The building housing the visitor center dates to 1836 and was the original home of the Boston Land and Manufacturing Company Store. Later, it was used as a warehouse, community center, and post office. Next door is a vintage 1940s gas station, M.D. Garage, that has been converted into an art gallery, with free exhibits organized by the Crooked River Gang. The Trail Mix store, run by the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association, sells locally made snacks and ice cream as well as providing park information and selling tickets to area concerts and Bike Aboard! tickets for the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. The museum, gallery, and store are all a short walk from the towpath trail.
