Tinker's Creek Aqueduct Details
The Tinker's Creek Aqueduct carries water over water -- specifically, the Ohio & Erie Canal over Tinker's Creek in Valley View. The aqueduct dates back to the original construction of the canal but has been rebuilt several times due to flooding. In 2007, the deteriorating metal structure was removed by the Park Service, which is considering plans to restore this unique portion of the canal. Meanwhile, Canalway trail traffic has been diverted to a new bridge spanning Tinker's Creek, and pipes now carry canal water from one side of the canal to the other.
