Hotel Creek-Lewis Creek Loop Details
You can make a nice loop hike by combining the Hotel Creek Trail and the Lewis Creek Trail. Start at the Hotel Creek Trailhead and hike 1-1/4 mile past the turn off to Cedar Grove Overlook, where the Hotel Creek Trail will drop down to join the Lewis Creek Trail. This area burned in 1980 in one of the largest fires the parks have experienced in recent years. For the last two miles, from the Lewis Creek Trailhead back to your starting point, you'll follow a trail above the roadway. This eight-mile round trip hike should take about five hours and you'll gain 1,200 feet to the highest point.
