Located south of the park, Interior dates back to the 1880s, making it the oldest town around the Badlands. Today it's home to 100 residents. Rock hunters search the area for ancient relics. Near Interior, the Badlands Loop Scenic Byway can be accessed. Other areas of interest are Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and the Buffalo Gap National Grasslands.
