At Badlands National Park, pets must be kept on a leash not longer than six feet and are allowed in developed areas such as campgrounds, picnic areas, and areas accessible by motor vehicles. Pets are not permitted on trails, in public buildings, or backcountry areas, including the wilderness and prairie dog colonies.
