Great Falls of Tinkers Creek Details
Located deep in Tinker's Creek gorge, this 15-foot series of tumbling cascades was previously inaccessible due to the gorge's dramatic terrain but has been opened to visitors with the addition of a paved trail. At the peak of the industrial era of the canals the north side of the creek, where the gorge is shallower, was home to a number of mills. The falls, which measure nearly 80 feet wide in areas, are now surrounded by the wild beauty of CVNP: majestic oaks, hickories, beeches, hemlocks, and wildflowers growing amid blue shale and red mud.
