Green Lake Trail Details
See 800-year-old Douglas fir trees and other ancient wonders on this 10.8-mile roundtrip hike that begins at the park's Carbon River Entrance. You'll pass an impressive cascading waterfall as you make your way to this quiet forested lake. When the Carbon River Entrance is closed due to slides or road damage, you must hike or bike 3.2 miles from the entrance to the Green Lake trailhead. From here, hike a mile through old-growth forest until you reach Ranger Creek Falls, a short detour off the main trail. Then continue another mile on the trail to Green Lake, tucked in the woods and a great spot to cool off on a hot summer day. Retrace your steps when it's time to head home. Trail stats: 10.4 miles roundtrip; about 1,000 feet of elevation gain; 4.5 hours.
