Box Canyon Loop Trail Details
Box Canyon is located 12 miles west of Ohanapecosh on Stevens Canyon Road. The .5-mile paved trail loops around the rim of a deep chasm that's been carved out by the glacial-fed Cowlitz River. Peer into the narrow slot canyon as you cross the bridge over the Muddy Fork of the Cowlitz River and you can see water rushing by more than 100 feet down. The beginning section of this trail is suitable for wheelchairs, but gets too rough after it crosses the bridge.
