Activities

Mount Rainier has a few designated picnicking areas: Cougar Rock, Paradise, Box Canyon and Ohanapecosh, as well as a few picnic tables at the Kautz Creek rest area, in the Longmire area, outside the Jackson Visitor Center and behind the visitor center at Sunrise. Parking and restrooms are also available at each of the four areas. There are also a few smaller areas for picnicking, including a spot along the Carbon River Road in the northwest of the park, Mowich Lake, Ipsut Creek, White River, and Tipsoo Lake.
