Scenic Views

Dante's View is the classic viewpoint over Death Valley, but it's hardly the only one. Perched 5,000 feet above the valley floor, Dante's View has the advantage of being reached by a paved road, although you can hike to the overlook as well. Another 1,000 feet up is Aguereberry Point, although you may need a high-clearance vehicle to reach this Panamint Valley viewpoint. Perhaps the most mind-blowing view is that from the top of Telescope Peak, but you'll have to earn it with an arduous hike to the summit of this 11,331-foot mountain. On the other end of the difficulty spectrum is Zabriskie Point, just a few steps from a parking lot off Highway 190 and perhaps the best place in Death Valley to view the sunrise or sunsets.
