Bridalveil Fall (W1) Details

This isn't the tallest waterfall or the most spectacular, but you may find it to be the most beautiful in Yosemite when the wind blows its waters sideways, creating the signature "bridal-veil" effect. The Ahwahneechee Indians called this waterfall "Pohono," or "spirit of the puffing wind." There's an easy 1/2-mile trail from the Bridalveil Falls parking lot to the waterfall itself. You will get wet on this hike, and the rocks are slippery, so be very careful. Roadside marker: W1
