Mastodon Mine Details
The ruins of Mastodon Mine are easily accessible via the Mastodon Peak Trail in the Cottonwood Spring Oasis area. The trail passes the mine, which operated from 1934 to 1971, and the remains of the Winona Mill. Original development of the mine included a shaft that dropped to 45 feet, and there are some remaining wooden structures on the outside of the mine to check out.
