Elizabeth Lake Details

Named after a 19th-century geologist's niece, this jigsaw-shaped lake is as pretty as a postcard, surrounded by evergreens and bordered by granite peaks. The trail to it travels toward the Cathedral Range, and after some steady climbs in high elevation, runs into its beautiful tree-lined shores. The granite face of Unicorn Peak rises steeply from one end, and on still days its reflection in the water is serene. Despite its apparent beauty, however, the lake remains a significantly less-visited sight in the Park. It is a great location to enjoy the quiet tranquility of Yosemite's flora and fauna.
