Inspiration Point Details
This trail shoots straight up past the Wawona Tunnel and leaves the crowds behind as it climbs steeply and quickly to the summit. The trail is quite strenuous, and its first half is particularly steep in comparison with other trails in the Valley. The Point itself is a 50-yard granite shelf with good views of El Capitan and Half Dome. While tall pines and manzanita obscure most views, other opportunities to view the Valley abound nearby.
