Little Yosemite Valley Details

The result of a recession of a 2,000-foot-deep glacier, the valley is home of the Merced River, which flows though slick granite canyons before tumbling down Nevada Fall into the valley. This strenuous trail provides good access to Half Dome and Clouds Rest. This little valley, four miles from Yosemite Valley, is a secluded haven, but hikers will require wilderness permits in order to gain access. Trailhead: Happy Isles Shuttle Stop #16
