Mount Russell Details
At 11,670 feet, Mt. Russell is a little more than half the size of Denali (Mt. McKinley) but is nonetheless one of the major peaks in the Alaska Range. Extremely steep, the mountain gains 10,000 feet in elevation in just 8 miles. That alone may explain why it has only rarely been summited in the half-century since the first ascent.
