Devils Garden Loop Details

The longest maintained trail in Arches is the 7.2 mile Devils Garden Loop. Allow three to five hours to explore all eight arches. Each is a masterpiece of entrada sandstone, time and erosion. Undulating along the slickrock and sand, hike past fragrant junipers and pinion pines to enjoy the vast landscape and views of the park and the towering La Sal Mountains in the southeastern background. Hike along narrow fins and spines, but don't attempt this route in wet or icy conditions. The primitive trail is lightly used and marked by cairns. Ask the ranger about the trail conditions or whether a guide is available to help you navigate the maze-like landscape. Those up for the adventure will not be disappointed by the fantastical rock formations of this geologic wonderland.
