Slaughter Pond Trail Details
Slaughter Pond, just beyond the Park's western boundary, is accessible with two approaches to the same trail. The trailhead can also be reached via the Doubletop Mountain Trail which originates at the Kidney Pond Campground. The distance from the campground to the trailhead is 1.3 miles. The trailhead can also be reached via a service road which begins on the Kidney Pond Road, just after crossing the auto bridge over Nesowadnehunk Stream. At the parking area, follow the service road before crossing Slaughter Brook. Follow an old tote road for .2 miles until joining the Doubletop Mountain Trail coming out of Kidney Pond Campground. Slaughter Pond Trail begins in the old field and follows and old tote road westward for .9 miles before reaching the east end of Slaughter Pond.
