The trail originates on the Park Tote Road, .6 miles west from the Matagamon Gate and cars can park in the small clearing. The trail follows an old tote road, ascending gradually. At mile 1.2, the summit trail bears right. At summit the trail continues westward, descending to junction with the Five Ponds Trail.
