Activities
Visiting Sequoia & Kings Canyon by car is one of the most popular activities in the park. Most people arrive via car and do most of their exploring that way, as well. The park is accessible via two different highways which connect to form Generals Highway, often called "the road between the parks." Highway 180, also called the Kings Canyon Scenic Byway, begins in the Sierra Nevada foothills near Dunlap, and traverses 50 spectacular miles leading to Roads End in Kings Canyon National Park. If you're driving or towing an RV or if you're uncomfortable with a winding road, this is the best entrance to choose. Alternately, Highway 198 enters Sequoia from the southwest via Three Rivers. Vehicles longer than 22 feet are not advised to travel between Potwisha Campground and the Giant Forest Museum.
