Skiing

Cross-country skiing is a great way to experience Bryce Canyon in the winter, when the hoodoos wear white caps and ample snowfall fills the Bryce Amphitheater. The park has 10-plus miles of marked but ungroomed ski trails, including the rim trail between Bryce Point and Fairyland Point; the Bristlecone Loop; the Paria Ski Loop; and the unplowed Paria View and Fairyland Point roads. When snowpack allows, it's also possible to ski into the canyon from the nearby town of Tropic, and you'll also find miles of groomed ski trails at nearby Ruby's Inn and the Dixie National Forest. Note that skiing, sledding or snowboarding off the edge of the canyon is prohibited and dangerous due to the avalanches and mud-snow slides that commonly occur on the steep slopes.
