Summer (June to August): Summer in St. Louis is hot and humid, with daytime highs frequently reaching 90-95F (32-35C) and humidity levels pushing the heat index even higher. Thunderstorms are common, especially in the afternoons. While the park remains open, the drinking fountains are shut off from October through mid-May. Visitors should bundle up and be cautious on icy sidewalks or ramps.
