BSP uses a Rolling Reservation system for summer camping reservations. If the current date is between January 16th-June 15th STEP 1: Determine the first earliest date you can make the reservation: BSP uses a 4 Month Rolling Reservation system for all summer camping reservation being made between the dates of January 16-and including June 15th. Reservations can be made anytime within the four (4) month window of your camping starting date (online reservations have to be made four (4) months from your camping end date). Open 7 days a week from Memorial weekend through Columbus weekend. By Mail: We accept all mail up to 7 days before your camping end date, check the reservation chart (http://tinyurl.com/baxter-chart). Online: Online reservations have to be made four (4) months from your camping end date. All campsite reservations can be made online except the following: Chimney Pond, Russell Pond, Davis Pond, Wassataquoik. Lake Island, bunkhouse spaces, group sites and accessible sites. Check the rolling reservation chart to find the date you can make a reservation on-line. To make an Online reservation, go to the Reservation System and click the "Create an Account" button. The system will then lead you through the process. If the current date is on or after JUNE 16TH: On or after June 16 available sites can be reserved at anytime in person, by mail, phone or on-line. A reminder – pets, oversize vehicles and motorcycles are not permitted in Baxter Park. Reservation Limits and other policies A reservation is an arrangement by which accommodations are secured for one or more consecutive nights of lodging in Baxter State Park. Reservations shall be accepted for up to seven (7) total nights for any one (1) site and any one (1) campground, and up to two weeks (14 nights) total duration. When considering capacity of all facilities, each child is counted as one individual regardless of age. Site capacity is restricted. Before adding people to your party, consult with Park Reservation Clerks to be sure your site will hold additional people. Reservations for two or more nights will be held only until 4:00 PM of the day following the first evening for which reservations were made. An average of 30% of campground lean-to and tent site facilities shall be set aside for Maine resident advance reservations until seven (7) days prior to the actual use date. After which time, unreserved sites will be released to either residents or non-residents. Groups of thirteen (13) or more in a family or non-family situation shall be assigned to one of the group areas. Each organized camp group of five (5) or more individuals will be limited to one (1) visit to Chimney Pond Campground during the period from July through August. Davis Pond Reservations are limited to one night only and require a reservation for the previous night at Russell Pond or Chimney Pond Campground. Wassataquoik Lake Island Reservations are limited to two consecutive nights and require a reservation for the previous night at Russell Pond or Chimney Pond Campground.
