Brown Mountain Gate House Details
One of the two such gate houses designed for the carriage roads built by John D. Rockefeller, Jr. The Gate Lodge you see here was built in 1932 to keep cars off the carriage roads. Like the gatehouse at Jordan Pond, it was designed by architect Grosvenor Atterbury and built in a French Romanesque Revival style. Today, it's a private home.
