Glacier Point View (V27) Details
This is an excellent place to take in the splendor of Glacier Point. The extreme point of the promontory of Glacier Point is wholly bare, but on the slopes below, in the hollow to the west, and on the wooded slope above, glacial material is abundant. Glacier Point can be reached from the Valley via Glacier Point Road. In the summer, the road to Glacier Point is usually open late May or early June to sometime in November. In winter, Glacier Point Road closes due to snow, and access to Glacier Point from the Yosemite Ski and Snowboard Area is only by ski or snowshoe. Views from the Point are some of the most magnificent in the Park and include Half Dome and three waterfalls. Roadside marker: V27
