Cesar E. Chavez National Monument honors the preeminent U.S. Latino leader of the 20th century, who worked tirelessly on behalf of agricultural workers and co-founded the United Farm Workers union. The park is located at Chavez's home and office in Keene, Calif. -- known as Nuestra Señora Reina de la Paz -- and includes a visitor center with a museum, bookstore, and a memorial garden with Chavez's gravesite. Visitors can view Chavez's office, virtually unchanged from his days of labor activism. Established: October 8, 2012 Area: 105 acres
