La Jolla Shores

The main beach in the charming town of La Jolla is a stunning sight to see. Surrounded by 300-foot cliffs and coastal reefs, this 1-mile-long beach is a rugged yet peaceful place to visit. The waters are surprisingly gentle, so you will find swimmers and snorkelers here throughout the year. However, there are some big swells further offshore, which also attract surfers. The beach also happens to be the only boat launch in San Diego, which makes it a popular destination for paddleboarders, kayakers, and boaters. Close to the beach, you will find boat rental and kayak tour shops in case you want to partake in the fun too.
