Yosemite Falls Details
One of the Park's most famous sights, these majestic falls begin where the rushing Yosemite Creek seems to virtually jump off the edge of Eagle Creek Meadow. It flows at an average rate of 300 cubic feet per second during its peak in late spring. Lined by steep granite cliffs and stately evergreens, the falls consist of three sections: the Upper Falls, the Middle Cascades, and the Lower Falls. While the Lower and Upper Falls are accessible by the nearby Lower Yosemite Falls Trail and steep trails to the north, the rocky Middle Cascades are too treacherous to be considered approachable. Visible from multiple sites within Yosemite Valley, particularly near Yosemite Village. Height: 2,425 ft Flows: approximately November through July, with peak flow in May.
