Lava Tube in the Mojave Desert Details

It is not every day that you get to crawl inside the middle of a lava tube. As you descend down into the ground, you will enter a dark chamber with an exposed hole in the ceiling, creating a spotlight that illuminates the tube with sunshine. Located in a lava field in the Mojave National Preserve, this tunnel-like tube was formed thousands of years ago by molten lava. It is a little narrow in some places, so claustrophobic travels might want to wait at the top instead.
