Glass Beach Details
In the early 1900s, this land was known as the Dumps due to people discarding garbage, glass, and appliances onto the coast. This process stopped in the 1960s when it was revealed that the ocean waves had weathered the sharp shards of glass into polished stones. Now, the entire shoreline of this beach is covered in pebbles of rainbow-colored frosted sea glass. Enjoy the beauty but do not remove any glass from the beach it is illegal!
