Founders Grove Details

Home to some of the biggest trees on the planet, this redwood grove is a must-see for visitors of Humbolt Redwoods State Park. As soon as you enter the grove (which is located just off of the Avenue of the Giants highway), you will immediately see the 346-foot-tall Founders Tree. Keep walking down the trail, and you will also come across the Dyerville Giant, the tallest, oldest, and largest redwood in the forest. Although the tree fell in 1991, you can still see how massive it is by walking along its 52-foot wide trunk.
