Burney Falls Details

President Theodore Roosevelt took one look at this majestic waterfall and called it the Eighth Wonder of the World. It plunges down nearly 130-feet over moss-covered cliffs into a large, pale blue pool at the bottom. While the falls have a consistently powerful flow of around 278 million liters per day, it is much higher in the spring after the snowmelt has run down from the mountains. The best views are from the lookout point at the top or at the base near the pool (which can be accessed via a short hiking trail).
