Once the site of a duck hunting range, this 300-acre restored property in Irvine is now a sanctuary for birds. In fact, the wetlands were designed specifically as a birding habitat with nesting boxes scattered throughout the park. Over 200 different species of birds (including 20 types of nesting birds) have been observed in the sanctuary. Everything from the common mallard and dove to the rare Yellow-billed Cuckoo and light-footed clapper rail call this serene park home.
