The namesake beach in this charming San Diego neighborhood is fun any time of the day. Come during the morning for an early morning jog or bike ride along the Ocean Front Walk boardwalk or post up on the sandy shores for an afternoon of swimming and sunbathing. At night, the area comes alive when visitors flock to the numerous restaurants and bars dotted around town. Jetting out into the ocean is Crystal Pier, a small boardwalk from the 1920s with amazing views over the water. There are also several cottages on the pier that are part of the Crystal Pier Hotel.
