Coronado Beach Details
This 1.5-mile-long beach is one of the most popular beaches in San Diego, although it never feels overly crowded. The land is relatively flat, which makes it perfect for sunbathers, skimboarders, and beachcombers (check out the rocky tidepools filled with seashells and sand dollars). In the foreground is the recognizable red roof of the Hotel del Coronado, a historic hotel and National Historic Landmark. Other amenities at the beach include restrooms, showers, volleyball courts, and fire pits. At sunset, this is one of the best places to be, especially if you bring food for a BBQ or picnic on the beach.
