Connecting Susanville with Westwood, this trail through dense woodlands and rocky cliffs is a great trip for anyone wanting to get outdoors. It is a rail to trail conversion route that replaces the Lassen Railroad line, which was used for transporting lumber from 1914 to 1956. The majority of this 25-mile trail is flat, and there are some pretty breathtaking sites to attract your attention on the way. The Susan River, Susan River Canyon, and the 25-foot carved statue of Paul Bunyan are just a few wonders you will see off the trail.
