White Mountain Details
Considered to be the easiest mountain in California to the summit, the 6-mile trek to this 14,252-foot high summit is a fun adventure for intermediate hikers. You will gain over 3,000-feet in elevation as you wind up the dry, desert-like landscape (there is no shade so it is recommended to start as early as possible). The majority of the trail is hilly, with some switchbacks and steep inclines and declines most of the way. There is a small hut at the top (where you can rest and escape the sun) with dramatic views of the surrounding landscape.
