Tomales Point Trail Details

Take a walk to the tip of the Point Reyes Peninsula to see breathtaking views of three different bodies of water. Tomales Bay, Bodega Bay, and the Pacific Ocean are all right here, providing stunning backdrops for your 9.4-mile hike. This area is also a habitat for elk, and its normal to see 10, 15, or even 20 of these creatures wandering around through the surrounding forest during the trip. The first part of the trail starts out well-marked, although the last bit near the point can be a little overgrown (so make sure you have appropriate footwear and long sleeves and pants). Also be prepared for chilly weather, as the point is also known for the heavy fog that rolls through.
