Pacific Crest Trail Details
Stretching the entire length of the west coast, this astonishing 2,653-mile trail starts in Campo, California next to Mexico and travels all the way to the Canadian border. Tackling the entire trail takes months of research and training, although it is possible to do small sections of the California route if you do not have the time or experience. Trek over Forester Pass, admiring the fascinating skyline of Vasquez Rocks, or enjoy a walk along the glistening lakes of the John Muir Wilderness. Whichever route you choose, you will not be disappointed by the sheer beauty that awaits you along this trail. The majority of thru-hikers go northbound. It's recommended to start in Campo and go north, if only because if you begin the hike in Canada, you can't cross into the United States on the Pacific Crest Trail and must do so at the nearest point of entry which is the Sumas Border crossing west of E. C. Manning Park.
