Four Mile Trail Details
This trail climbs from the bottom of Yosemite Valley to the southern side of Glacier Point, and connects two of the Park's most popular sites. Breathtaking vistas all along the way make the strenuous climb from the valley floor well worthwhile. Despite periodic steepness, the trail is wide and smooth, using a number of switchbacks as it trades the boulders and wildflowers of the valley for some of the Park's best views. Although many hikers do this trail as a round-trip hike, an alternative in the summer is to purchase a tour bus ticket to Glacier Point ($25/adults, $23/seniors, $15 kids ages 5-12) and hike down. Reservations are required; visit a Delaware North tour desk for details. You can also make a longer hike by following the Panorama Trail back to the valley. The Four Mile trail is closed from approximately December through May due to extremely hazardous conditions.
